ISLAMABAD: First Lady Samina Alvi has called for creating greater awareness amongst women about breast cancer.  In a special message, Alvi said timely diagnosis and treatment can save precious lives. She said we have been trying to sensitise women about symptom, early diagnosis and treatment over last four years.

First Lady said around 109 women die every twenty hours due to this cancer in Pakistan. She said breast cancer is most common cancer among women. Expressing satisfaction over recent trends, she said recent data shows patients of first and second stage have started contacting doctors. She appealed women to examine their bodies every month and immediately visit a doctor if they find a lump or a change around their breast.
