FIR to be filed whoever throws, spread garbage in Karachi: CM Baqar

Karachi: Sindh caretaker Chief Minister Justice (retd) Maqbool Baqar said that action should be taken against people who spoil urban environment, according to statement issued from Chief Minister’s House. An operation was conducted against Afghans in District East on instructions of caretaker Chief Minister.

Garbage was collected from different areas of city in Kashmir Road, Alam Iqbal Road, Khalid Bin Waleed Road, Sir Syed Road, Tariq Road and Noor Ground of UC 8 (PACHS) of Jamshed Town of Afghani East District. They take out material and throw remaining garbage into drains in which names are closed. Caretaker CM was told in report that Afghans had formed team to smuggle materials from illegal dumping site to Safura workshop. Garbage-picking Afghans not only litter entire area, but also block names. Caretaker CM giving instructions said that FIR should be filed against people who spread garbage in city. Justice (retd) Maqbool Baqir said that full action should be taken against people who spoil urban environment. Caretaker CM was told that police seized belongings of Afghan team and have also closed their illegal garbage dumping point and an FIR has been lodged against Afghans in Firozabad Police Station. Sindh Solid Waste Management Board MD Imtiaz Shah supervised operation against illegal dumping of garbage.
