FIA seeks Interpol’s help to get Farah Gogi arrested

ISLAMABAD: Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) decided to arrest Farah Gogi and bring her to Pakistan through Interpol. Sources divulged that there had been lot of progress in ongoing money-laundering investigation against Farah Gogi at FIA. FIA had approached Interpol to issue red warrant for Farah Gogi. Ms Gogi will be arrested by Interpol after red warrant is issued against her. Court had already declared Farah Gogi proclaimed offender in money-laundering case.
Sources privy to development said FIA had obtained irrefutable evidence of money laundering against Ms Gogi. Ms Gogi had already fled country to avoid ongoing investigation against her.
On other hand, sessions’ court extended interim bail of wife of former Minister Moonis Elahi and others in money-laundering and suspicious bank transactions case till May 18. Hearing on applications was conducted by duty judge as judge hearing case was on leave.
Judge was informed that Rasakh Elahi was suffering from fever and could not appear before court. Judge accepted plea and approved day’s waiver. Court directed FIA to submit investigation report on next hearing. Later, court extended interim bail of suspects till May 18. FIA registered case against Elahi family members in which Tahirim Elahi, Zara Elahi, Ahmed Faran, Atiqur Rehman, Shujauddin and others are nominated as suspects.
