ISLAMABAD: Federal Ombudsman Ejaz Ahmed Qureshi presented the annual performance report for 2024 to President Asif Ali Zardari at Aiwan-e-Sadr in Islamabad.
The report highlights a significant increase in public engagement, with the Federal Ombudsman receiving a record 226,000 complaints in 2024, marking a 17% rise compared to 2023.
This surge in complaints indicates a growing public trust in the Ombudsman's office and a heightened awareness of citizens' rights. Notably, 92.9% of the decisions made by the office were implemented during the year, reflecting a strong commitment to addressing grievances effectively.
To enhance accessibility, the Wafaqi Mohtasib's office expanded its reach by establishing new regional offices in Muzaffarabad (AJ&K) and Gilgit, bringing the total to 24. Additionally, 126 "Khuli Katcheries" (Open Courts) were held nationwide, allowing citizens to directly present their complaints without the need to travel to central offices.
These initiatives underscore the office's dedication to providing prompt, free-of-cost justice and improving administrative accountability across Pakistan.
