MUZZAFARGH: Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl Chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman lashed out at institutions, stating that entities which break Constitution are ones responsible for carrying out rebellion.

Addressing rally here, he asserted that certain institutions played no part in creation of Pakistan but contributed to its disintegration. Fazl accused establishment of tampering with Constitution, asserting that those who break it are true rebels, not them. He criticised current government setup while reflecting on ongoing fight against terrorism, noting, “[They] declared war against terrorism, yet terrorism continues to rise.” “If terrorism is crossing borders, then where are you standing on borders?” Fazl stated while questioning military’s effectiveness.

Discussing deteriorating law and order situation, JUI-F Chief noted, “People of KP and Balochistan are suffering from severe unrest.” He asserted that under Constitution, nation should be given an Islamic system and economic rights. He asked whether supporting institutions in establishing peace could be considered crime for scholars. Touching upon Fourth Schedule during his address, he declared, “Fourth schedule will not stop us.” JUI-F Chief announced that on Golden Jubilee of Khatam-e-Nabuwaat, party will celebrate ‘Youm-e-Fatah’ on September 7 at Minar-e-Pakistan. Expressing solidarity with Palestinians over Israel’s ongoing horrific assault on besieged Gaza Strip, he stated that Muslims of Palestine have sacrificed lot. “[Even] European countries are being forced to recognise Palestine as state [now],” he added.

“We want to convey to Palestinians that Pakistanis stand with you,” JUI-F chief proclaimed. Referring to recent scandal involving wheat, he questioned import of substandard crops, asking, “Why did you import 3.5 million tonnes of worm-infested wheat?” While alleging that “Deal” was made. According to report by BBC Urdu, Fazl claimed that if ‘powerful circles’ did not admit that February 8 general elections were “Rigged,” then that meant people had also “Rejected” their narrative on last year’s May 9 violence.
