LAHORE: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leader Fawad Chaudhry has invited Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz for consultation on Punjab caretaker set-up after provincial Assembly stood dissolved. In statement, former Minister said that he wants Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz to consult with his party on caretaker set-up in Punjab.

Fawad noted that his party will propose two names for caretaker Chief Minister. "If opposition does not agree on proposed names, matter will be referred to parliamentary committee and Election Commission," he added. He said that they would try to come up with better name through consensus. Meanwhile, Fawad also said that party Chairman Imran Khan would not meet any defiant member, asking latter to respond to show cause notice to party secretariat. A day earlier Punjab Assembly was dissolved as Punjab Governor Baligh-ur-Rehman excused himself from signing summary, saying he could not become part of process. "I would rather let Constitution and law take its own course.

Doing so will not hamper any legal process as Constitution clearly provides way forward," he wrote. Punjab Assembly Speaker Sibtain Khan chaired session in which PTI leader and member Punjab Assembly Mian Aslam Iqbal tabled resolution expressing confidence in Chief Minister.
