Lahore: Rubina Shaheen Wattoo announced joining in meeting with Peoples’ Party co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari at Bilawal House here.

Rubina Shaheen Wattoo expressed full confidence in Party’s Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and co-Chairman former President Asif Ali Zardari. Former Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani was present. Rubina Shaheen Wattoo is daughter of former Punjab Chief Minister Mian Manzoor Wattoo. She was elected as an MNA on Pakistan Bachao Party ticket. Rubina brother, Jahanzeb Ahmed Khan Wattoo, has also been member of Punjab Assembly.

Meanwhile, Asif Ali Zardari has stepped up efforts to poach Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf deserters ahead of general elections. With more than 70 leaders and former lawmakers parting ways with Imran Khan-led PTI since May 9, Asif Zardari is in Lahore for three days to win over most of PTI dissidents.

Sources privy to development told that Asif Zardari would welcome group of south Punjab leaders into his party’s fold today.

Sources told that more than 15 former lawmakers from South Punjab will announce joining Party. PTI deserters will make announcement along with PPP co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari in press conference. Sources claimed that former President will hold press conference today from Makhdoom House in Model Town.
