Ex-CJP Isa likely to face PTI protest at Middle Temple

LONDON: Former Chief Justice of Pakistan Qazi Faez Isa, first Pakistani judge to be invited to dinner by Society of the Middle Temple, is likely to face protest by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf UK chapter.

Jahanzeb Khan, former senior Vice President of PTI UK and Sahibzada Jahangir party founder Imran Khan’s friend and former adviser confirmed that demonstration has been called at Middle Temple in Central London to protest ex-CJP Isa’s participation and condemn society for inviting him and elevating him in Temple. Jahanzeb said that former minister ministers and advisers Zulfi Bukhari, Maleeka Bokhari and Shehryar Afridi will also attend demonstration. Meanwhile, Middle Temple confirmed that it has invited former CJP Isa for bench call where ceremony is being held for benchers and members of Inn to call elected members to Bench.

Callees include Isa, Professor Adrian Briggs, Isabel Hitching KC and Nikki Singla KC. They will be called to bench before dinner and asked to take their place at high table. Isa will give short speech to benchers and members, Middle Temple confirmed. He studied law at Middle Temple and his father, Qazi Isa, was also graduate of Middle Temple.
