Excise Police foil bid to smuggle drugs

Sindh Excise Police said foiled bid to smuggle large quantity of drugs to Karachi and recovered 140 kilograms of hashish in two separate operations, arrested three accused and seized two vehicles used in smuggling.
According to reports, in first action, excise team led by Excise Inspector Qamaruddin Sial at Rohri Excise Check Post recovered 100 kg hashish that was recovered from oil tanker No.C-9176. Accused Sardar Akbar Afridi was arrested and case registered while investigation was underway.
In second operation, Excise Inspector Hasan Ali Dashti along with his team conducted operation near Ubaro Excise Check Post Kamboh Shaheed National Highway on Sindh-Punjab Border.
Excise team recovered 40 kg hashish from car number AMH-024 while two accused Ayaz Raza and Muhammad Younis were arrested and case was registered against them. Accused are said to be residents of Kohat and Khyber Agency. Further investigation was underway.
Provincial Minister for Excise, Taxation and Narcotics Control Department Mukesh Kumar Chawla congratulated Excise teams on successful operations.
