ISLAMABAD: Establishment made it clear that they were not involved in any effort for defusing political tension currently prevailing in country. Sources said Establishment was of view that politicians would have to make an effort themselves to get out of political crisis prevailing in country for months.

It was added that ‘neutral policy’ of Establishment was given credence when top court tried to resolve political issues but instead was criticised by political parties for its role. Establishment became satisfied with neutral policy (that political parties should end political crisis themselves) after judiciary was unable to resolve political tension through its verdict, sources mentioned. It was added that Establishment had no role in recently started efforts from Pakistan People Party’s three-member dialogue committee and Srajul Haq’s meetings with PM and PTI Chief to PTI’s three-member committee for consultation with Jamaat-e-Islami to revive dialogue. It was highlighted that PTI wanted polls to be held on May 14 while government would want them to be held in October.

Later, PTI, PPP and JI confirmed of Establishment when they were reached out for comments by sources.Meanwhile, Jamaat-e-Islami Amir Sirajul Haq said that Supreme Court, establishment, and Election Commission of Pakistan had to stay neutral. Sirauul Haq made his remarks in talk show with private TV channel during which he said, "In politics, negotiations are important. Even if elections do not happen at will of Pakistan Democratic Movement, still problems will be solved."
