Envoy of Qatar calls on interim PM Kakar

ISLAMABAD: Ali Mubarak Ali Essa Al-Khater Ambassador of State of Qatar called on caretaker Prime Minister Anwaarul Haq Kakar here. Interim Prime Minister said that Pakistan and Qatar enjoyed strong, fraternal ties. He expressed Pakistan’s desire to expand bilateral cooperation across all spheres, particularly trade and investment. He conveyed warm regards to Amir of Qatar.
Emphasising Pakistan’s focus on GCC region, he said that SIFC was playing an active role to attract investors from Gulf countries, including Qatar, to benefit from opportunities in key sectors of economy. He encouraged Ambassador to explore potential for cooperation in tourism and media sectors.
Interim PM Kakar said that Pakistan appreciated role played by Qatar in diplomatic efforts that led to temporary ceasefire in Gaza and stressed need for concerted efforts by international community, particularly Muslim ummah to bring peace in Palestine. Kakar congratulated him on assuming ambassadorial responsibilities in Pakistan and hoped that bonds of friendship between two countries would further strengthen during his tenure.
