Enthralling ceremony of 77th National Day of Indonesia held in Karachi
Indonesian envoy danced to the tune of popular song

KARACHI: An enthralling ceremony to mark 77th National Day of Indonesia was recently held at a local hotel in the metropolis which was largely attended by city’s elite from all walks of life. Addressing on the occasion, Indonesian Consul General, Dr. June Kuncoro Hadiningrat said that Pakistan and Indonesia relationship is based on mutual trust and respect since long time and in the years coming ahead, bond between the two countries will cross many more dimensions with consistency.
Dr June Kuncoro also said that Indonesia has always offered support to Pakistan in difficult times and this year also during the spate of deadly floods in, Indonesian government has provided relief items and cash worth in millions. It is pertinent to mention here that two chartered aircraft of Garuda Indonesia carrying 90 tonnes of humanitarian aid for flood victims landed at the Jinnah International Airport last month, the aid that included medicines, tents, clothes, blankets, sleeping bags, mosquito nets, and generators, was handed over to Sindh government.
Moreover, it is known to all that in past also, the two countries have always supported each other in the times of natural calamities, be it the devastating tsunami in Indonesia in 2004 or the massive floods in Pakistan in 2010 and 2022. Governor Sindh Kamran Tessori was the chief guest on the occasion.
Chief Minister Sindh Murad Ali Shah, diplomats of various countries, members of the business community, journalists also showed their presence during the event of Indonesian National Day celebrations. Addressing to the guests, Sindh CM Murad Ali Shah congratulated the people of Indonesia on the eve of the Independence Day. Expressing his views, Murad said that Pakistan and Indonesia ties are long-lasting and we look forward to further strengthening our business and trade ties with Indonesia in the long-run.
During the Indonesian National Day celebrations, a fascinating model show was also held in collaboration with the Indus University. On a very interesting note, at the concluding part of the ceremony the Indonesian Consul General, Dr. June Kuncoro Hadiningrat along with his better-half and other staff danced to the tune of one of popular Indonesian son where later the guests also accompanied the envoy on the stage. Saleem Bikiya, Chairman International Business Managment (IBM) received Friend of Indonesia 2022 award by CG Dr June.
