Ensuring decent work for agri-workers vital for sustainable development: EFP

KARACHI: Employers Federation of Pakistan (EFP) with support from International Labour Organisation (ILO) organised session for members of Mehar Agriculture Employers (Landlords) Association (MAEA) in Hyderabad.
EFP Secretary General Syed Nazar Ali said Associations was playing crucial role in providing strong representation and promoting decent working conditions for all their members. “EFP is promoting fundamental principles and rights at work to safeguard workers’ rights, enhance sustainability of businesses and create sustainable economic development.” He urged urgent need for strong voice to improve visibility of informal agriculture sector in international forums and mentioned how EFP serves as valuable networking tool, facilitating connections and collaborations in this regard.
Qazi Wajid Mahesar President MAEA expressed gratitude to Employer’s Federation and ILO for driving international attention to significance of employer-represented organisations in Sindh, especially for small-scale farmers while praising EFP’s efforts in advancing fair employment conditions to support businesses in attaining sustainability.
