ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said enemies of CPEC are enemies of development, peace, prosperity in Pakistan and region.

They don't want our people get rid of poverty. India should benefit from CPEC instead of creating hindrance on its way, PM said this in his statement on completion of 10 years of CPEC.

PM reiterated Pakistan and China are iron brothers. CPEC is new chapter of this tested, evergreen and strategic partnership. "I congratulate people and leadership of Pakistan and China on completion of 10 years of CPEC.

He underlined CPEC is gift from Chinese president Xi Jinping for people of Pakistan. It is matter of sorrow that impediment has come on way to CPEC in four years, he observed. Baseless allegations were leveled against great friend China. We are stepping up pace of CPEC by two times.

He said CPEC is tool of cementing bilateral relations of Pakistan and China and beginning of new era of mutual partnership. It also includes projects ranging from water supply to education, technical training and skill development.

He said inclusion of capacity building of National Disaster Management Authority and proactive measures for prevention of natural calamities are part of CPEC. It includes joint ventures for agricultural development that will also ensure food security in country.

CPEC is project for elimination of poverty, unemployment and economic recession. CPEC will provide benefit to Iran, Afghanistan, Central Asia and entire region.

There will be transfer of technology due to construction of 9 special economic zones and industrial collaboration and local production will witness surge, he remarked.
