Encroahment mafia will not be spared at any cost, strict action to be taken: DC Central

KARACHI: Maintenance work of dilapidated roads along with cleanliness, better arrangements of lighting around all masajid and imambargahs in Central District are being carried out on a priority. At request of Masroor Hashmi, Chairman of Ahl-e-Sunnah Liaison Council, during inspection of road carpeting work on road from Darbarkhania Masroriya to Masjid Umar bin Abdul Aziz to Masjid and Imam Bargah Al-e-Muhammad in North Karachi Sector 5C-3 talking to representatives DC Taha Saleem said that before arrival of month of Rabi al-Awwal, scholars and organisers of masajid and imambargahs including organisers of Eid Milad-ul-Nabi procession were informed about issues in a special meeting and their problems were addressed on a priority basis which includes repair of water and sewage leakage lines, proper lighting arrangements, filling of pits on mosques, imam bargahs and procession passages and road carpeting work. 

He said that the people are working day and night to provide a clean, transparent and healthy environment to central district. In order to successfully carry out mission of clearing central district from encroachments, operations were accelerated throughout district, keeping in view public complaint, countermeasures of DMC Central and KMC in Mujahid Colony Nazimabad. A major operation against encroachments was carried out by encroachment staff, as a result of which constructions as well as moorings were completely destroyed. During operation, encroachments were demolished by heavy machinery. And on direction of Taha Salim, actions against encroachments are being implemented on daily basis in central municipality, while relevant assistant commissioner is closely monitoring them.
