On Friday, a global Microsoft outage sparked chaos due to a faulty update in CrowdStrike’s security software. 

The glitch, caused by an update to CrowdStrike’s Falcon Sensor driver, led Windows systems to display the dreaded blue screens of death with the message, “Recovery: It looks like Windows didn’t load correctly.” This snafu resulted in significant operational challenges across various industries and over 1,000 cancelled flights worldwide. CrowdStrike confirmed their software update was to blame. X, formerly Twitter, buzzed with memes mocking the tech mishap.

Elon Musk, owner of X and an avid memer, also took a dig at Microsoft.  Musk even reposted a cheeky comment: “On X, you get a front-row seat to whatever is going on now before it’s known elsewhere later.”  Adding to the hilarity, the Las Vegas Sphere showcased the infamous blue screen of death on its giant display.
