Electric buses on roads today, says Sharjeel Memon

Karachi: Sindh Minister of Information, Transport and Mass Transit Sharjeel Memon along with Special Assistant to Chief Minister of Sindh for Investment and Public-Private Partnership Syed Qasim Naveed Qamar addressed press conference at Archives Complex Clifton. They announced that chargers for electric buses have arrived and starting from today, these buses will once again operate on roads of Karachi. Sindh government is consistently taking measures to provide optimal travel facilities to its citizens, and in this regard, another fleet of buses will arrive in Karachi today.

Sharjeel stated that as per instructions of Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and Chief Minister Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah, Sindh government is committed to expanding number of buses in order to enhance urban travel facilities. Furthermore, he mentioned that new buses will be replacing older ones. He mentioned that bus monitoring app has been launched, which has made people’s lives easier in this era of inflation. He highlighted that Sindh government has undertaken significant work in mega projects. Government hospitals in Sindh offer excellent health facilities, with even individuals from Afghanistan and Iran utilising Sindh hospitals for medical treatment.

He said that Dhabji Special Economic Zone is commencing operations, which will create numerous investment and employment opportunities. Investors are being facilitated through streamlined one-window operation process, there is high likelihood of establishing an electric bus plant in Sindh. Sharjeel Memon expressed that Pakistan Peoples’ Party government is excelling in all sectors. He emphasised that Sindh government under leadership of Murad Ali Shah is tirelessly striving for development of province. He said that Sindh government has exclusively provided best treatment in government hospitals. He mentioned that government hospitals in Sindh offer free-of-cost treatment for world’s most expensive cyber knife and transplant procedures.

He announced Sindh government is planning to organise an investment conference in province in near future to showcase natural resources available in Sindh to world and attract investments.  He mentioned that Chairman Bilawal Bhutto addressed topics of employment and education opportunities for youth during his foreign visits. He highlighted efforts of Asif Ali Zardari referred to as “King of Reconciliation,” who has promoted message of reconciliation to all. Message of ‘Pakistan Khappe’ signifies unity, reconciliation and development.

He emphasised need to establish NICVD branches in every district across country to ensure widespread access to quality cardiac care. In response to question, he mentioned that Sindh government is conducting operations in katcha areas. Bilawal’s efforts in encouraging all forces in Pakistan to work together with understanding. Regarding a question, he commented that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf did not exhibit patriotism by attempting to obstruct signing of agreement with International Monetary Fund.

PPP struggle is not directed against Grand Democratic Alliance or any particular political party, our focus is on combating poverty, ignorance, unemployment and various challenges that affect people.
