President assented to February 8, 2024 for holding general election. Election Commission presented notification on holding election on February 8 in SC. Court disposed of all petitions with order of court.
Court issued written order for wrapping up petitions seeking holding election within 90 days. It has been said in written order one Prime Minister was removed through vote of no confidence in near past. Vote of no confidence led country to political crisis. SC took suo motu notice on political matter. President dissolved National Assembly after no confidence motion. It was unconstitutional process. President cannot dissolve assembly on advice of PM after no confidence motion. Dissolving assembly unconstitutionally falls under high treason.
SC remarked president had no authority to dissolve assembly surprisingly. But he exercised authority. On other hand power of giving date which rested with president was not exercised.
