Electing Pakistani leaders: US has no role in anyway, says Miller

Washington: Spokesperson of US State Department, Matthew Miller said that America has no role in electing Pakistani leaders. We talk to elected leadership of Pakistani people.
We will continue conversation with government on all matters. During press briefing in Washington, Matthew Miller said regarding Pak-Afghan relationships that we support diplomatic solutions to various issues between Afghanistan and Pakistan.
Action is being taken to nominate former members of Afghan Parliament on corruption charges. Former Parliament members and their relatives are ineligible for entry into US.
While answering to question regarding meeting of US Ambassador with Chairman PTI Imran Khan in Jail, spokesperson State Department Matthew Miller also said on November 22 that we do not hold any version on candidates of political post in Pakistan.
He further said that we also support the announcement of initiating 4 new programs for Pakistan by US Ambassador. Balochistan police will be supported and trained. 4 million dollars will be given for training schools.
Government is in close and constant contact with Pakistan regarding safety of Afghan citizens waiting for US visas. US said that the focus is on general elections in Pakistan. It should be ensured that the elections are for the benefit of the people of Pakistan.
During press briefing, vice spokesperson State Department Vedanta Patel said that we are focused on free and fair elections in Pakistan in which Pakistani people have to decide about the representation of candidate and political party.
