ISLAMABAD:  Pakistan Bar Council (PBC) decided to summon meeting to ponder over filing reference against Supreme Court judge over leaked audio, purportedly involving judge and former Punjab Chief Minister Parvez Elahi.

In leaked audio, Elahi close ally of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan can be heard allegedly talking about managing courts. However, former CM said that conversation with lawyer has been taped and distorted and that there is nothing wrong in audio. PBC has convened meeting of all heads of provincial bar councils including Islamabad Bar Council to file reference in Supreme Judicial Council.  Hassan Raza Pasha Chairman executive committee of PBC said in order to deliberate on glaring issue, council had convened meeting next week possibly on February 23 in Islamabad.

Vice chairpersons of all provincial bar councils as well as chairman of Islamabad Bar Council would be invited to the meeting, he confirmed. He said he had held press conference in Lahore some days ago and demanded forensic test of alleged audio tape. Separately, Supreme Court Bar Association President Abid S Zubairi had termed audio leaks as doctored.
