Eid-ul-Fitr being celebrated today

ISLAMABAD: Eid-ul-Fitr is being celebrated in Pakistan today. Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee made announcement after receiving testimonies of moon sighting from different parts of country. Meanwhile, Eid is also being celebrated in Indonesia, Singapore, Japan, Australia, Philippines and Thailand.

However, in many European countries and America, followers of some sects will mark Eid on Saturday. In Pakistan, India and Bangladesh, Eid is being celebrated today. Statements from Iran’s supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and Iraq’s highest Shiite authority, Grand Ayatollah Ali Sistani, said Eid would be celebrated today in their countries. In Oman, too, religious festival would be marked on Saturday.
