ECP takes notice of Imran Khan’s speech

ISLAMABAD: Election Commission of Pakistan took notice of Imran Khan’s speech which he delivered yesterday and sought script of speech from Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA). Imran Khan had criticised Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) in his speech. As per ECP authorities ECP can initiate proceedings against Imran Khan under Article 204 of Constitution. ECP has already initiated contempt of ECP proceedings against Imran Khan.
On other hand ECP has delisted 5 important cases including removal of Imran Khan from chairmanship of party on December 13. These cases will be heard on December 20. Cases which have been delisted include issuance of notification of Imran Khan success in by polls, complaint filed by Akbar S Babar against PTI under political parties order act-2020, filing of details regarding election expenses incurred in NA-22 Mardan, NA-24 Charsada, NA-31 Peshawar. NA-108 Faisalabad, NA 118-Nankana Sahb, NA-239 Karachi and NA-45 Kurram.
