ECP Sindh finalises preparations for LG by-elections

KARACHI: Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) Sindh finalised preparations for local government (LG) by-elections on 77 municipal seats across province.

According to details, by-elections will also be held on four vacant chairman seats, two vice chairman seats and four ward councilor seats. Sources said that ECP Sindh chapter has already submitted schedule to ECP for approval. In its report, ECP Sindh also sent proposed names for district returning officers and returning officers. Final schedule will be announced by ECP.

Earlier, Chief Election Commissioner Sultan Akram Raja said that Election Commission of Pakistan is prepared to conduct Local Government polls in Punjab. ECP, headed by Chief Election Commissioner held high-level meeting in Islamabad to discuss preparations for upcoming LG elections in Punjab.
