ECP postpones by-elections across Pakistan

ISLAMABAD: Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has postponed scheduled by-elections in 13 constitutions. Decision was taken by ECP in a session chaired by Chief Election Commissioner Sultan Sikandar Raja regarding organisation of by-elections. It has been decided that by-polls scheduled for September 11, September 25 and October 2 will be postponed and new dates will be announced soon.

Commission said that by-poll was deferred due to devastating rains and floods. ECP had scheduled by-polls in three constituencies of Karachi on September 25, whereas, Commission deferred Local Government polls scheduled for August 28 on report of Sindh government.
