EC sets up Online FC for scrutiny of nomination papers

ISLAMABAD: Election Commission (EC) has set up Online Facilitation Centres (FC)  to facilitate scrutiny of nomination papers  in connection with general election 2024. According to EC spokesperson Online FC has been set up in Election commission secretariat. NADRA, NAB, FIA and state bank are assisting FC.

EC spokesperson said Online FC 7/24 is working. Particulars of candidates are being sent to respective departments for necessary action.

As per EC spokesperson directives have been issued that secretary power division and secretary petroleum division should too obtain lists of candidates from respective returning officers.

Directive has also been issued that secretary national telecommunication and secretary housing should also obtain lists of candidates from returning officers. Likewise all four chief secretaries and chairman CDA too have been directed to get lists of candidates from returning officers.

Lists of candidates have been issued on December 24, 2023. Candidates who are defaulters have been directed to contact ROs from December 25 to 30 in connection with scrutiny of nomination papers. Recovery of outstanding amount from defaulting candidates will be ensured.

Directives have been issued by EC that all federal and provincial institutions of government should contact returning officers immediately.
