EC gives one week final time to PML-N to hold intra party election

Islamabad: Election Commission (EC) has given one week final time to PML-N for holding intra party election. Intra party election matter came up for hearing before 3-member commission presided over by Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Sikandar Sultan Raja here. Arshid Jadoon counsel for PML-N appeared before Commission. Election Commission authorities told that PML-N had assured intra party election would take place on December 30. Arshad Jadoon counsel for PML-N told Commission that they could not hold intra party election on December 30. We will hold intra party election till January 31. Ahsan Iqbal has filed an application in this regard in Election Commission that intra party will take place on January 31. Give us last chance.

Chief Election Commissioner remarked party which cannot hold its own election then what it will hold remaining election. We should cancel electoral symbol of PML-N. Either we should cancel electoral symbol or you will hold intra party election.

CEC said we are issuing final notice for 7 days. Show cause notice in respect of cancellation of electoral symbol will be issued. Some time you mention corona and some time you make some other pretext. Democracy will come in party due to intra party election.
