EC files report in SC about polls in KP, Punjab assemblies

ISLAMABAD: Election Commission (EC) filed report about polls in two provincial assemblies of Punjab and KP in Supreme Court (SC).

It has been said in report funds have not been provided for polls in Punjab and KP assemblies.

SC had summoned progress report from EC and the EC was directed to inform SC about provision or non-provision of funds regarding election in two provincial assemblies. SC had ordered federal government to transfer funds till April 27.

Earlier members of National Assembly MNAs once again rejected motion on floor of House in connection with provision of funds for elections in Punjab and KP provinces.
