EC dismisses petition against misstatement in declaration of assets of CM KP Gandapur

ISLAMABAD: Election Commission has dismissed petition filed against misstatement in annual declaration of assets of Chief Minister KP Ali Amin Gandapur.

Five members EC presided over by Chief Election Commissioner took up petition for hearing. DG Political Finance Masood Akhtar and counsel for CM KP Ali Amin Gandapur appeared in EC. Petitioner Kafeel Ahmad withdrew his petition seeking disqualification of Ali Amin Gandpur. EC dismissed petition filed by Kafeel Ahmad being withdrawn.

Counsel for KP CM told Commission Peshawar High Court has suspended EC suo motu notice. Member KP inquired has PHC stopped EC from giving final decision. Counsel said PHC has stopped EC from initiating proceedings.  EC adjourned hearing of case against Ali Amin Gandpur for indefinite period.–Online
