Karachi: Renowned Islamic scholar Dr Zakir Naik emphasised need for Muslims to follow Islam completely and sees Gaza as test for all mankind.

In an exclusive interview on private TV with senior journalist, Dr Zakir Naik made powerful statement about current state of Muslim Ummah, emphasising need to return to teachings of Quran and Hadith.  He said: “What is happening in Gaza is test for all of humanity. People of Gaza are passing test, while we are failing. People of Gaza are passing with 95 percent marks, and we are failing with 99 percent. We must follow Islam completely. Condition of Muslims today is because we have distanced ourselves from Quran and Hadith.”

Dr Zakir Naik explained signs of end times according to Islamic teachings, stating that there are small and large signs of world’s end.  First of these signs was coming of last prophet, Prophet (PBUH). As for major signs, there are 10, including arrival of Imam Mahdi, Jesus (PBUH) and Gog and Magog.” “If Muslim ummah unites and follows Quran and Sunnah, we will prevail. We were once at top in 8th century, but we fell when we began to distance ourselves from our religion. Today, we have wealth, Muslims are among richest, but we do not practice our faith fully,” he said. Dr Naik stressed that selective adherence to Islam is insufficient and Muslims must embrace religion in its entirety to succeed in both this life and hereafter.
