KARACHI: Former Petroleum Advisor and senior leader of the Pakistan Peoples’ Party Dr Asim Hussain has strongly condemned the vicious terrorist attack on the soldiers of the Pakistan Army in Dera Ismail Khan.

Dr Asim while paying rich tribute to the gallantry and the courage of the soldiers said that it is the need of the hour to combat the menace of terrorist activities with full force and commitment. While lauding the efforts of the Pakistan Armed Forces, Dr Asim said that the supreme sacrifices of the brave soldiers will not go in vain and terrorists will face the wrath of the state on account of their pugnacious and offensive acts.

Earlier, at least 25 military personnel were martyred while twenty seven terrorists killed in three separate incidents in Dera Ismail Khan in the wee hours’ yesterday.

At around 3am yesterday, six terrorists attacked a police station in the Daraban area of Dera Ismail Khan, however, their attempt to enter the premises was foiled.

The terrorists then rammed a vehicle full of explosives into the main gate of the police station. They also exploded their suicide vests, reported the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
