District Central wins KMC-Karachi Games ‘Girls basketball’

KARACHI: District Central won the final of the KMC-Karachi Games Basketball Girls Tournament organized under the auspices of Karachi Basketball Association in collaboration with support of KMC as part of the ongoing Karachi Games.

The chief guest of the final played at Court Aram Bagh was KMC Administrator Dr. Saifur Rahman, while 2 former captains of Pakistan, International Tanveer Ahmed, International Azam Khan, President of Karachi Basketball Association, Ghulam Muhammad Khan, Chief Organizer of the Tournament, Muhammad Bashir Siddiqui, and Muhammad Yaqoob. , Aslam Niazi and hundreds of fans were also present.

In the final, Maryam Zahid scored 12 points, Noor Fatima scored 6 points and Laiba Tabreez scored 2 points on behalf of the winner team, while Ramishal Chishti scored 8 points, Maria scored 8 points and Sawira scored 4 points on behalf of the runners-up team. Adnan Salehin, Aamir Sharif and Mumtaz Ahmed supervised the final while Malik Mutahir, Zaima Khatun, Mumtaz Ahmed and Daniyal Khan Marwat performed the duties of technical officials.

Speaking on the occasion, the Chief guest Administrator KMC Dr Saifur Rehman said that the Karachi Games will be held regularly every year and another girls' basketball tournament will also be held after Eid-ul-Fitr. Expressing his gratitude for playing a role in promoting the game, he assured full cooperation on behalf KMC. The KBBA president said on the occasion that KBBA under the patronage of Commissioner Karachi Muhammad Iqbal Memon organizes basketball events for 12 months of the year.
