District Central staff engaged in work at various choking points

KARACHI: Deputy Commissioner and Administrator District Central Taha Salim said that administration of District is active for public service even during monsoon season. Discussing flow of water in rain drains, he said that under rain emergency, Sanitation, Parks, Rescue and B&R department and other officers and staff are performing services.

 He said that under rain emergency, municipality employees are serving 24 hours in different shifts. Taha met staff on rain water drainage in various places of district, especially Nagan Chowrangi, Water Pump, KDA Chowrangi, Liaquatabad and other areas and appreciated their services, Municipal Commissioner Central Zahid Hussain, Director Sanitation Zaheer Ahmed and Xen Central Faisal Sagheer were present.

Rainwater harvesting due to better drainage arrangements. He said that integrated strategy and tireless work of Municipality staff played an important role in providing complete relief to residents of District during rainy season and reducing extent of damage caused by rains.

He said that due to better and advance planning, people are not facing much trouble and difficulties. They have gone to monitor situation of rainwater drainage and using manpower as well as available missionaries to collect rainwater which mostly comes from hilly areas especially Paharganj carrying soil and garbage with it. Comes with high flow, it can be diverted towards storm drains. Due to coordinated communication of administration, municipal officers and workers, no major problem was reported from any place during rains.
