District Central’s massive anti-encroachment drive ramshackles illegal structures

KARACHI: On directive of Deputy Commissioner and Administrator District Central Taha Saleem and under supervision of Assistant Commissioner North Nazimabad Tahir Ali Cheema a grand operation is being conducted against encroachment at Landhi Courtal Chowrangi North Nazimabad. There is heavy police presence to control law and order situation during anti-encroachment operation in case government personnel face resistance from encroaching mafia and encroachers.

This problem was tackled with help of institutions. In ongoing operation against encroachments encroachment are being demolished using heavy machinery, in which more than 35 mature mines are being demolished. Tahir Ali Cheema said that orders of Supreme Court are being strictly followed for elimination of encroachments in district and encroachments at any place, especially on storm drains and footpaths will be removed. People and their facilitators involved in illegal construction will be dealt with iron hands. Report of collapse of buildings at many places in city is also a warning for encroachers and city administration, therefore is determined to eliminate all such encroachments that are posing threat to public life and welfare projects. It causes obstruction to welfare works especially rainwater drainage and garbage disposal.
