District Central full of colorful events, activities on 75th Independence Day

KARACHI: 75th Independence Day was quite a busy day for Deputy Commissioner and Administrator District Central Taha Saleem. Participated in various events from morning to night and inspected performance of staff and officers engaged in all zones for better performance of administrative and municipal services along with inauguration of new programmes.
Taha Salim on 75th anniversary of establishment of Pakistan hoisted flag in his office and presenting anthem along with attendees of ceremony. Speakers and students highlighted importance of Pakistan's independence movement and independence in their speeches and presented national songs.
Independence celebration programme organised by Baldia Central Gulbarg Park Department at Afghan Park in Federal 'B' Area. Taha Salim inaugurated celebration of Independence Day by cutting 50 feet long and 5 feet wide cake weighing 750 pounds and 5 feet wide. Ceremony was organised by Deputy Director of Gardens Gulbarg Sharif Beg. Second event was establishment of IT City by JDC, attended by Taha Salim. In this IT City, students were given free education. J.D.C. Appreciated plan of administration to equip new generation with jewel of important modern technology education and expressed hope that other welfare organisations and philanthropists will help them in this good work. Free distribution of plants by Dawat-i-Islami also held. He appreciated efforts of organisation to make city green and to create awareness and passion for plantation among people. Moreover, in view of prediction of another severe period of rains by Meteorological Department, Taha Saleem issued high alert to all concerned departments and instructed all officers and staff to be vigilant on 24-hour during rains. Deal with any emergency situation arising from rain and stormwater flooding, he said. He said that purpose of public service institutions is to save people from sufferings and problems and this is possible only when our officers and staff members have ability to face hardships and spirit of serving humanity in their hearts.
