ISLAMABAD: Special Assistance to Prime Minister (SAPM) Faisal Kareem Kundi demanded Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan to first dissolve assemblies in Khyber Pakhtunkhawa, Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Gilgit Baltistan and Punjab, if he seriously wishes to compel federal government to announce early elections.

He said government would only hold elections on its schedule after completing its constitutional tenure that is in October 2023. However, he quipped that government could only extend favour to PTI Chief if he offered any date of said month (October) next year.

He denounced all fake news attributed to former president Asif Ali Zardari and categorically ruled out any back-door meetings with PTI Chief. Meanwhile, he slammed Imran Khan for allegedly holding “midnight secret meetings”, which he said were continuing to this day.

He said that appointment of next Army Chief would be held as per set procedure that was practised in past as well, ruling out any consultation with PTI Chief.
