Discussion on ‘Psych Meet’ organised by IU

Karachi: Department of Psychology of Iqra University (IU) North Campus organised ‘Psych Meet’ panel discussion. HOD and registered psychologist Dr. Salima Ahsan Tejani discussed importance of mental fitness for students.
Dr. Salima said that such sessions are aimed to inform students’ on psychological concerns and issues. In addition, it will further enable student to seek best practices in field and introduce them to practices of psychology council. Through these sessions, we can enhance mental capabilities of our students and equip them with tools to live their lives better and excel in their academic and personal lives.
Shamsha Shamsi life coach joined online session from Canada informed students that controlling their emotions is key to success in life. She said that these sessions should be organised to help those who need help so that people do not take matters into their hands by ending precious life. She said that our purpose is to educate students and make them aware of life’s challenges. Later, participants of session participated in ‘laughter therapy,’ which improves a person’s thinking capabilities and reduces stress and pain. Session ended with different singing, poetry and comedy programmes presented by students and commemorative shield presentation to Dr. Salima Tejani.
