Karachi: Sindh Governor Kamran Tessori met new Consul General of US Conrad Tribble here. Pakistan-US diplomatic and trade relations, role of Pakistan’s economic artery in economy of Karachi and important issues including investment opportunities were discussed. Governor welcomed Consul General Conrad on his posting in Karachi. He said that economic cooperation between two countries in various fields is welcome, while USAID projects in Sindh province are helping in providing facilities to people. Consul General said that American investors are very interested investing in various sectors.

Later, Consul General and Governor visited Quaid’s Room where Governor informed him about personal belongings of father of nation. Consul General expressed keen interest while seeing things kept there.

Meanwhile, Governor also met Ambassador of Uzbekistan Aybek Arif Usmanov. Uzbek Ambassador rang ‘Bell of Hope’, reviewed rations of ‘Taqatwar Pakistan Programme’ and furniture used by ‘Father of the Nation’. Pakistan-Uzbekistan relations, promotion of mutual economic cooperation, exchange of delegations in various fields, favourable investment opportunities in Sindh and matters of mutual interest were discussed. Samarqand, Bukhara and Tashkent have prominent place in Islamic history, Kamran Tessori said. Mutual cooperation will benefit economy of both countries, he added.

On other hand, Governor met officers under training of Information Services Academy Islamabad. Delegation was led by Director General PID Iram Tanveer and DGISA Saeed Ahmad Qureshi included Deputy Director Sanahanif, Sabiha Chand, Ayesha Athar, Roha Khan, Anam Awan, Afrah Hussain and Alishba Fatima.

Governor said that on start of new life and new goals, world has changed but even after 75 years we are still standing there. It is responsibility of government to provide facilities but we have not delivered anything. Aitchison is good college so why is it not nationwide. Karachi Grammar School has good reputation so it should be nationwide. Why is there only one in country like Dr. Adeeb, Moin Akhtar? Reason is that we as nation have done nothing for country.

Countries like UAE, Malaysia and Indonesia have developed in front of us. Now as individuals we have to do what we can, we have to be messiah of each other. He said try to change people’s lives. We have opened doors to public. 150,000 people were given IT test. 50,000 successful candidates will be given IT courses at Governor’s House.
