Digital census to start from Mar 1: PBS

Islamabad: Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) notified to begin seventh population and housing census in country from March 1.

Census which will be conducted digitally will continue for month and conclude on April 1.

Announced by PBS, which works under Ministry of Planning, Development and Special Initiatives approval to conduct census was given during Council of Common Interest's 49th meeting held on January 13.

Prior to decision, PBS had initiated census activities and devised plan to impart training to conduct census in three tiers-training of master trainers in Islamabad; training of trainers (TOTS) at divisional level and training of enumerators (TOEs) at census district level.
