DIG Dr Maqsood briefs NZ’s security team on arrangements, visits National Stadium

Karachi: A 4-member security delegation of New Zealand Cricket Board comprising Reg Dickason, Simon Lasley, Greg Mann and Heath Mills visited SSU headquarters. DIG Security and Emergency Services Division Dr. Maqsood Ahmed briefed delegation over security arrangements related to visit of New Zealand cricket team to Pakistan.
Security delegation of New Zealand Cricket, senior officials of PCB, intelligence officials, SSP South Asad Raza, SSP East Syed Abdul Rahim, Wing Commander Sindh Rangers Babar Javed, SP SSU Azhar Mughal, SP FSC Tauheed Memon, SP Madadgar-15 Hafeez ur Rehman, SP Gulshan Saleem Shah, officials of Special Branch and Traffic Police and other senior officers attended meeting.
DIG Security informed delegation about security arrangements to be in placed regarding visit of New Zealand cricket team to Pakistan, especially for matches to be played at National Stadium Karachi. DIG Dr. Maqsood said that SSU commandos have been provided with advanced professional training, equipped with modern weapons and communication system team of SSU to deal with any unexpected situation created by anti-social elements. DIG Security said that in past, various international teams like Australian cricket team had a successful visit to Pakistan which indicates fact that Pakistan is a safe country for international sports activities.
Delegation reviewed security arrangements made at airport, stadium, roads and hotels in context of matches at National Stadium and expressed their satisfaction. In addition, delegation also visited various departments of SSU headquarters and appreciated maintained professional standards and enhanced professionalism of police commandos. Later, delegation alongwith DIG Dr. Maqsood and PCB officials visited National Stadium.
