DGPR Sindh stresses importance of diligence, effectively disseminating information

KARACHI: Information Department, Sindh government emphasised crucial role of Public Relations Officers (PROs) in effectively promoting government’s development projects.

Muhammad Salim Khan Director General Public Relations presiding over meeting of PROs from various departments and ministries, stressed importance of diligence, promptness and accuracy in disseminating information to public. “As provincial government’s spokesperson, Information Department is responsible for showcasing government’s initiatives and achievements. PROs play vital role in this endeavour,” he said.

He encouraged PROs to write informative articles highlighting development projects’ benefits, utilise print, electronic and social media platforms effectively, promptly clarify misinformation besides to provide accurate information and prioritise their duties to ensure timely dissemination of information. PROs shared concerns regarding office facilities, residential issues, mobile allowances and other matters, on which Khan assured them that all possible steps would be taken to address these issues. “Government values contributions of PROs in promoting its initiatives. We will ensure that their concerns are addressed and they have necessary resources to perform their duties effectively,” he said.

PROs from various departments and ministries including Maqsooduddin, Muhammad Imran, Saeed Memon, Atif Hussain Wagho, Syed Saad Ali, Farhat Imtiaz Jokhio, Farooq Mumtaz, Murad Waheed, Shabir Ali Babar, Asif Dero, Sohail Ahmed Jokhio, Fayaz Memon and Imran Sange were in attendance.
