KARACHI: Karachi Administrator DMC east Syed Shakeel Ahmed said that so far there has been no heavy rain in city, however there was moderate rain on University Road, after which roads and areas have been cleared by carrying out immediate drainage work.

Inspecting dewatering pumps installed for drainage he directed that in case of heavy rains, staff should use dewatering pumps as per need and efforts should be made that there is no negligence in drainage of rainwater, de watering pumps have been installed at chronic points including PTV Station Road, Federal Urdu University, Nipa and Safari Park and other places.  Due to this, timely drainage will be ensured special arrangements have been made for drainage on University Road, depending on rest of rain, our work is to try for which every possible effort has been used. Assistant Executive Engineer Rashid Fayyaz and In-charge Municipal Services Rao Shamshad and others were present.
