Decision to strictly follow SC orders against encroachments in District Central: Taha Saleem

Karachi: A special meeting was held under chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner and Administrator District Central Taha Salim regarding elimination of illegal encroachments in district. Assistant Commissioners, Anti-Encroachment Department officers, KMC, KDA, SBCA, Rangers and police officers attended meeting.

It was decided in meeting that orders of Supreme Court should be strictly followed for elimination of encroachments in district and encroachments should be removed at any place, especially on rain drains and footpaths before restructuring city’s infrastructure.

Encroachments threatening lives of citizens should not flourish in any way. It was decided that people involved in construction of illegal encroachments and mafia behind them should be dealt with iron hands. In this regard, Central District Anti-Encroachment Department will continue to get support of KMC, KDA, SBCA, and law enforcement agencies, Rangers and police. It should be noted that during anti-encroachment operation at Rojament.

A-4.ST.Federal B Area Block 19 near Power House, government personnel faced resistance from encroachment mafia, however, issue was tackled with help of enforcement agencies. Operation was supervised by Secretary KDA Shamsul Haq Siddiqui, Additional Director of Anti-Encroachment Cell Jameel Ahmad Baloch and Assistant Commissioner Gulberg Dadan Lashari. Therefore, it is necessary to eliminate all such encroachments which cause danger to public life and obstruction of public welfare works, especially rainwater drainage and garbage disposal.
