Deadly bus-car collision kills at least 30 in Kohistan, rescue operation underway

CHILAS: At least 30 people were killed and several others sustained injuries when passenger bus collided head-on with a car on Karakoram Highway near Kohistan Shatial Chowki in Gilgit-Baltistan’s Chilas city.

According to details, passenger bus carrying 45 passengers and car fell into ravine after colliding near on Karakoram Highway near Kohistan Shatial Chowki. Collision resulted in death of at least 30 passengers, police said.

Upon receiving information, rescue teams and police reached spot and shifted injured and bodies to nearby hospital. Sources told that rescue teams were facing difficulties in rescue operations due to darkness.
