KARACHI: A high-level meeting chaired by Deputy Commissioner Central, Taha Saleem, was held at the Deputy Commissioner's Office to discuss the issue of encroachments in District Central.

The meeting was attended by all Assistant Commissioners, Municipal Commissioners, Directors, Deputy Directors, Anti-Encroachment Police, and other officials. The meeting decided to take strong action against encroachments and stone crushing in District Central. It was emphasized that no restaurants, hotels, or other establishments would be allowed to encroach beyond their allotted spaces.

Deputy Commissioner Central, Taha Saleem, stated that the public in District Central is suffering due to encroachments by denters, painters, fruit and vegetable vendors, and rickshaw stands. He directed that these encroachments be removed immediately. To achieve this, an operation will be launched six days a week, with no tolerance for any kind of pressure or influence. Any Anti-Encroachment officer found to be negligent or inefficient in their duties will face departmental action.

Furthermore, night operations against encroachments will be intensified, and CCTV cameras will be installed in departmental yards within a week, with access to Assistant Commissioners.

The meeting resolved to take strong action against encroachments and ensure that the public spaces in District Central are restored to their original state.
