DC Central takes a dig at land mafia’s threat, orders strict action

KARACHI: Deputy Commissioner and Administrator District Central Taha Saleem instructed district administration and anti-extortion department to take strict action against miscreants and mafia who are obstructing and threatening government. 

Stressing light on the Rifahi Plot No. ST-22 in Sector 5B of North Karachi, which was chosen to build a hawker zone, in which encroachment mafia had encroached, Taha ordered to remove encroachment from land grabbers.

Director of hawkers’ zone Akbar Hussain and Director of anti-encroachment Nadeem Haider during operation from Rafahi plot, 30-35 people of Hizb mafia arrested them. During attempt to stop, staff were also beaten up with severe life threats.  On receiving information of said incident, Taha directed officers of Anti-Encroachment Department to deal with miscreants and those disrupting government work with iron hands.

An FIR has also been registered in Ajmer Nagri North Karachi Police Station. Nadeem Haider, Additional Director Anti-Encroachment Sajid Sheikh and Director Rescue Nasir Khan were also present.
