DC Central says public health among top priorities

KARACHI: Deputy Commissioner and Administrator District Central Taha Salim said that public health is one of top priorities. He said that all parts in district would be sprayed with disinfectants to ensure elimination germs spreading diseases like Dengue virus.
Residents of district are protected from epidemic diseases. He instructed team of spray campaign to make spray campaign effective and it is necessary to spray disinfectant between Asr and Maghrib in order to eliminate district of pests and fatal diseases. He said that breeding spots of mosquitoes spreading malaria and Dengue virus in city due to recent rains. Disinfectant spraying will be done in phase-wise in all union committees of district. He said we are striving to save residents from Dengue, chikungunya, malaria, diarrhea and other diseases. Taha Saleem thanked Sindh government, Commissioner Karachi and officials of Karachi Metropolitan Corporation for providing complete relief to central district during rains while keeping in mind health of people for providing vehicles and fumigation machines for germicidal spray campaign. He instructed officers of Sanitation Department to make it possible to spray using manual spray machines in places where it is difficult for spraying vehicles to go during campaign. He said that it is important to create awareness among public and send spray teams to areas where complaints of non-spraying are being received. It should be noted that spraying campaign is going on as per schedule arranged at various places in District. Cooperation of district administration is also being sought to make spraying campaign effective and successful so that disinfection spraying can be carried out on an equal basis in all parts of city through an integrated strategy. Director Sanitation Zaheer Ahmed and other officers were also present.
