DC Central interacts with religious scholars, organisers

Karachi: A meeting in connection with arrangements for reception of Rabi-ul-Awal was held with Deputy Commissioner and Administrator District Central Taha Saleem in chair. Scholars belonging to different schools of thought, organisers of masajid and imam bargahs and procession organisers participated in meeting. Municipal Commissioner Central Zahid Hussain, Additional Deputy Commissioner I Wasimuddin, Additional Deputy Commissioner II Imran Ali Rajput, Assistant Commissioners of all sub-divisions of District Central, officers of Sindh Police, Pakistan Rangers, Karachi Water and Sewerage Board, K-Electric and officials of various departments of Municipality attended meeting. Taha Salim said that purpose of holding meeting with civic and local bodies and religious scholars, including masjid and imams, organisers of processions is to make Eid Milad-un-Nabi (peace be upon him) worthy of celebration.
He asked scholars to promote religious tolerance during month of Rabi-ul-Awwal and play an effective role for unity of Muslims. Without peace no society can develop, Ulemas play their role for promotion of peace and support us for improvement and development of district. Assuring his all possible cooperation on complaints and suggestions, he said that district and local government officers and workers will continue to serve in organising programmes of celebration of birth of Mercy.
He said that all possible measures will be taken to improve special cleaning arrangements at masajid, Imambargahs and other places of public gatherings, while there should be no difficulty in improving special lighting arrangements on all procession routes at night. He said that all issues will be solved without any delay. Taha Salim said that all possible steps are being taken to improve infrastructure and roads damaged due to heavy rains. City administration will provide all available facilities for provision of municipal facilities.
