DC Central briefs Army team on Biparjoy cyclone threat, safety measures

KARACHI: A representative delegation of Pakistan Army headed by Brigadier Khalid Doon visited Central District. They met Deputy Commissioner and Administrator of Central District Taha Saleem. A special visit was made to District to review arrangements made in central district to deal with emergency situation on possible threat of stormy winds. Colonel Zeeshan, ADC-II Imran Rajput, Director Sanitation Zaheer Ahmed were present. Taha Saleem briefed delegation with the help of charts about rainwater drainage system in Central District and arrangements made by district administration. Later, delegation members along with Taha Saleem visited chokepoints and relief camps established in district including storm drains and low-lying areas in various areas of district.
They assured cooperation in paying special attention to keep flow of water flowing in drains and to vacate buildings immediately to protect people living in damaged buildings in district from any possible danger. Gujjar Nala, main channel of rainwater drainage of district through which rainwater falls into Lyari River was also discussed.
