Lahore: President of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Pervaiz Elahi lambasted ruling government over recent hike in petroleum prices and said that current Finance Minister Ishaq Dar should learn economic and financial strategies from former Finance Minister Shaukat Tarin.

Pervaiz Elahi’s advice came after he expressed his dissatisfaction over recent hike in petroleum prices, stating that while oil prices have dropped globally, ruling government have hiked petroleum prices in Pakistan. Pervaiz Elahi further criticised Dar’s abilities as Finance Minister, calling him “Incompetent,” and termed recent Rs 10 per litre hike in petrol prices “Unjust” with nation. Former CM of Punjab further said that despite following International Monetary Fund conditions, Ishaq Dar failed to gain trust of IMF.

President of PTI expressed concern over current state of country, stating that nation is being ruled by group of incompetent individuals who have taken away basic rights of people. Pervaiz Elahi also condemned recent threats by Maulana Fazlur Rehman to take to streets in protest against judiciary, calling it an “Irresponsible and incendiary statement” that could lead to unrest in country.
