Dar heads Inter-Ministerial meeting, reviews economic situation

ISLAMABAD: Inter-Ministerial meeting chaired by Minister for Finance and Revenue Senator Ishaq Dar here reviewed economic situation, current mechanism of foreign currency and wheat and urea smuggling.

Various measures were discussed in order to strengthen anti-smuggling regime, according to press statement issued by Finance Ministry.

Minister for Law and Justice, Azam Nazeer Tarar, Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Finance Tariq Bajwa, SAPM on Revenue Tariq Pasha, Governor State Bank of Pakistan, Secretaries Finance and Interior, Chairman Federal Board of Revenue, DG FIA, DG I&I Customs,sSenior officers from finance division and intelligence agencies also participated in meeting.

Dar highlighting economic situation in country stressed upon need of coordination among all necessary platforms for this purpose.

He emphasised relevant authorities to devise robust and proactive road map to curb cross-border smuggling of various items in order to bring economic and financial stability in country. Participants thanked and appreciated Minister for taking appropriate and active measures for tackling current economic situation and ensured their support for ensuring smooth and sustainable economic growth, statement added.
